What is a mainstream hip hop song that you like? Even though you know it sucks?

What else can seniors do during the homecoming hip hop at the pep rally?
Q. Our school always does a pep rally for homecoming. At the pep rally they play silly little games and my class always wins because we're the biggest (103). The highlights of the whole thing are the hip hop dances. This year I am teaching both dances (the seniors and the faculty) but my goal is to involve all of the seniors even the ones who don't want to dance into at least one part of the hip hop. I need ideas besides just having them hold signs and then walking out with all of the dancers at the end. Please help!

Q. Where should I start to learn how to Hip Hop dance without going to a dance studio? I want to learn how to pop and lock, glide, wave, and other types of Hip Hop dancing all on my own. I want to look up videos online and learn from them but I don't know where to start.

A. random guy 77, you are off to an excellent start by realizing you have choices. To avoid making a fool of myself I always tried out my dancing in front of a full length mirror. DVD's are a great place to look for style and function in the privacy of your home. If you live in a large city go and watch the street talent and try to emulate their movements. Be original though and throw in something that only you have dreamed up and sets you apart from the crowd! It sounds like you have talent it is just the execution of the moves that you need help. You would be surprised to know that dance studios give you some building blocks of maneuvers that will catapult your talent. Q. My friends are performing a show, and they invited me to help. They couldn't find anyone else so I agreed, the problem is, I'm a horrible dancer. They've agreed to show me the choreography and the steps, and I'm sure I can get those down, but I'm just so stiff and not fluent Any suggestions on that? Any any tips with hip-hop? What type of clothes should I wear to a modern hip-hop dance class?
Q. I have done jazz dance before and the attire was pretty simple. However, I am just starting a hip-hop dance class and was wondering what to wear. I don't want to show up looking like I have no idea what I'm doing. I have read a few website regarding what to wear. However, I want to hear some advice from actual dancers who take hip-hop classes.

A. I'm on a hip-hop team and we were sweat shorts (like soffee shorts) and big T-shirts. Anything loose that you can move around in. I wouldn't show up in anything too fancy - you might be over-dressed. Your best bet would probaby be layers - wear a sports bra with a tank top, and throw a tshirt over that. Wear shorts with sweats over them. Then, no matter what the other people are wearing, you'll fit. And you can adjust your outfit to the temperature! For shoes, I suggest just wearing Tennis Shoes (clean ones!) but bring your jazz shoes along - it really depends on the teacher. Don't go out and buy plit sole tennis shoes because your teacher might refer you to some. Good luck! Hip hop is really fun. I'm sure you'll love it.
